Kimberley Walsh, born November 20, 1981 in Bradford, West Yorkshire, grew up in the Allerton suburb with her brother Adam and sisters Amy and Sally, who appeared on the soap opera “Emmerdale” from 1997 to 2000. Although she acted on various TV commercials as a child, Kimberley Walsh had another fate in store. During most of her childhood, Walsh joined productions of the theater school ‘Stage 84’ for several years. She also starred as the younger version of Cosette in the West End production of Les Miserables. In 2000, Kimberley Walsh tried to follow the footsteps of her older sister by auditioning for a role on the soap opera “Coronation Street,” but didn’t get the part. It did, however, lead to a minor role on the TV series “This is Personal: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper,” a starring role on the BBC educational program “Focus” and a guest role in “Dream Back.”
Although Kimberley Walsh has already been adding to her portfolio, it was only in 2002 did she had her big break. After competing against thousands of hopefuls to join the ITV1 reality talent show “Popstars: The Rivals,” Kimberley Walsh made it to the top fifteen and eventually became a member of the girl group called “Girls Aloud.” The group beat the boy band and their first single entitled “Sound of the Underground” became the UK Christmas No.1 Single in 2002. Since then, Kimberley Walsh and her 4 band mates have released several albums, including “Sound of the Underground,” “What Will the Neighbours Say?,” “Chemistry,” “The Sound of the Girls Aloud: Greatest Hits,” “Tangled Up” and “Out of Control.”
In 2009, Kimberley Walsh along with 8 other celebrities attempted to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for Comic Relief. She also lent her voice for “BT Speaking Clock” alongside band mate Cheryl Cole, Chris Moyles, Fearne Cotton and Gary Barlow to raise money for Comic Relief.
Kimberley Walsh dated football player Martin Pemberton for three years. She is currently living with Justin Scott, whom Kimberley has been dating for 5 years.
